Propagation Kernels

چکیده
We introduce propagation kernels, a general graph-kernel framework for eXciently measuring the similarity of structured data. Propagation kernels are based on monitoring how information spreads through a set of given graphs. They leverage early-stage distributions from propagation schemes such as random walks to capture structural information encoded in node labels, attributes, and edge information. This has two beneVts. First, oU-the-shelf propagation schemes can be used to naturally construct kernels for many graph types, including labeled, partially labeled, unlabeled, directed, and attributed graphs. Second, by leveraging existing eXcient and informative propagation schemes, propagation kernels can be considerably faster than state-of-the-art approaches without sacriVcing predictive performance. We will also show that if the graphs at hand have a regular structure, for instance when modeling image or video data, one can exploit this regularity to scale the kernel computation to large databases of graphs with thousands of nodes. We support our contributions by exhaustive experiments on a number of real-world graphs from a variety of application domains.

E cient Graph Kernels by Randomization
Learning from complex data is becoming increasingly important, and graph kernels have recently evolved into a rapidly developing branch of learning on structured data. However, previously proposed kernels rely on having discrete node label information. In this paper, we explore the power of continuous node-level features for propagation-based graph kernels. Speci cally, propagation kernels expl...

Learning from complex data is becoming increasingly important, and graph kernels have recently evolved into a rapidly developing branch of learning on structured data. Propagation kernels leverage the power of continuous node label distributions as graph features and hence, enhance traditional graph kernels to ...

The leading objective of this project is to rigorously study the asymptotic behavior of wave-theoretic travel-time sensitivity kernels with increasing range, as a means to explain their observed convergence towards the corresponding ray-theoretic sensitivity kernels even at low frequencies. Further objectives include the derivation and study of 2D and 3D first-order amplitude sensitivity kernel...

S U M M A R Y We demonstrate a method for the empirical construction of 2-D surface wave phase traveltime finite frequency sensitivity kernels by using phase traveltime measurements obtained across a large dense seismic array. The method exploits the virtual source and reciprocity properties of the ambient noise cross-correlation method. The adjoint method is used to construct the sensitivity k...
متن کاملRecursive descriptions of polar codes
Polar codes are recursive general concatenated codes. This property motivates a recursive formalization of the known decoding algorithms: Successive Cancellation, Successive Cancellation with Lists and Belief Propagation. This description allows an easy development of the first two algorithms for arbitrary polarizing kernels. Hardware architectures for these decoding algorithms are also describ...
